Loading Mail Application From Browser

Is there any way to load your email client from your browser? So that I can create a link saying "Launch Email Client". I know that mailto: is used for starting new individual messages, but how would I be able to load the client itself via a link from the browser? Thanks.

I don't think that's possible.. :(

You can not control which client another user opens, but you (as user browsing a site) set up which client to use when clicking on mailto: links. This is a browser option for internet explorer for example.

That is not what he wants :)
He wants to open the email client's frontpage, not the 'compose a new mail' window :)


On the other side, Floris is not that wrong.. You can't really tell what client the visitor is using so that makes it extra hard to start it :/

no its not possible to do that..

although i have seen sites that load up your alternative browser for you (if using firefox for instance)
