Hey,

I'm trying to convince a few people I run a message board with to drop phpBB2 and purchase vBulletin...

What are some of the main features offered with vBulletin not offered by phpBB2?

You can convert data from phpBB2 into vBulletin, correct?

I thought I saw in a thread that you can incorporate premium forums in vBulletin. Is this all forums, or can I set only one of the forums for premium. Say, I have my vBulletin running at www.myforums.com (http://www.myforums.com) and I have three forums, Team, General Info, Politics. I want Team to be premium, but not the other two, is this possible?

Isn't there a merge thread feature?

Basically, I just need help with ideas on how to sell this to these guys...

You can convert your existing phpbb database over to vBulletin with the impex script.

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=92 impex forum

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showpost.php?p=657606&postcount=2 phpbb2 converter status.

For your question about forums..yes this is possible. Once you learn how to use the usergroup system in vBulletin you will find you can do most anything with it. It is very flexible although a little complex at first.

Yes you can merge threads.

I would say that if you wish to compare your forums to vBulletin, it'd be best to compare it to the feature list here: http://www.vbulletin.com/features.php

Might also be a good idea to include what's to come: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=138544
