I've lost admin privileges on my board. I tried the getadmin.php and it didn't work. It runs but after I still can't gain access. I had my board off and I'm wondering if that makes a difference. Is there anyway to get my admin back? Please help!

Yes, I have telnet access.

I guess when I removed myself as moderator of all forums it removed me as admin as well. getadmin.php still not working.

if you have telenet access you can run a command line statement to give yourself admin privs back.

if you use PHPmyAdmin, it's a lot easier to find your name and change your status to 6. That's admin powers.

The database was set up for me by my host, and I've never had to access it directly. What command line statement do I run?

OK,
I downloaded phpMyAdmin and ran it. I brought up my database and looked at the user table. It says that I am in usergroupid 6. Everyone else is in 2. But, I still can't access the admin functions. Any Ideas?

Somehow the usergroup 6 (admin) was deleted. This must have happened when I took myself off as moderator. I searched through the other messages and a couple of others had this same problem. Solution: add a new usergroup with id 6 and set all fields to 1 (has access). I've learned more than I ever wanted to about MySQL, but maybe it will come in handy :)

Jeremy - You may want to follow this thread to see where it goes. A couple weeks ago I too suffered the same fate as you, however I gave up and reinstalled. Nothing worked for me at the time.

Anyway, keep an eye on this thread:
