Did you move your Privacy Statement??

It used to be at the bottom of the main forum page where the VB Copyright is. Where is it now?

<Moved to Site Feedback>

I don't recall a Privacy statement on this site. I'll ask about this.

No, Steve.

The earlier versions of VB had a Privacy Statement at the bottom of the main forum page. My question pertains to VB and not just your .com site.

The link is now only displayed if you enter a URL to the statement.

Specifically:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details -> Privacy Statement URL

Also in vB2 this was not displayed by default. You needed to uncomment the privacy link in the footer template.

Why can't I use the quote button?

Why can't I use the quote button?I don't know. Works for me.

When I post a reply or use the quote, I cannot paste in the bar that is located at the bottom of our main forum page. I get a message that says "The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 3 characters." which was untrue.

But first, I wanted to say we followed your tip in checking the CP for the privacy statment url, which remains in. But the Privacy Statement does not show up on the following bar:

Contact Us ***Forums Admin Mod Archive Top

I believe that's because content in BB Code tags (such as URLs) do not count against the character limit.

I believe that's because content in BB Code tags (such as URLs) do not count against the character limit. In my attempts I wrote the same amount of text and characters as you see above, except I chose not to type in:

Contact Us ***Forums Admin Mod Archive Top

Instead, I attempted to paste in the actual bar, and that's when the error happened. Even without the pasted bar, the amount of text was enough.

(Try it)

Did you set a 'Privacy Statement URL'?Yes.

We went to:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details -> Privacy Statement URL

And in the Privacy Statement URL field, we have the url of a Topic.

http://www.****.***/forums/showthread.php?threadid=1228

(It's been there for years, since the earlier versions, all through the upgrades)

(Try it)Paste what 'actual bar'? You also said you chose not to type in the text.

(It's been there for years, since the earlier versions, all through the upgrades)I don't see how this could be if you have the original vB files and footer template. If you have not installed any hacks (which includes portals), fill out a support ticket at:

http://members.vbulletin.com/membersupport_contactform.php

Be sure to include the login info to your Admin CP and FTP.
