Is anybody else getting spammed by vbhackers.com

How do they know that I'm a member here or over at .org has one of them been hacked, how safe is my account?

I have never gotten a single email from them. If they are spamming you, report them to their ISP.

Same here.. They spammed my with 2 mails..

First was:

Hi All, Just to let you know there is another new board for your hacks and mods.
It will cover vb mybb yabb etc etc
Pop over and say hi:)

and the second was:

Hi All

New board open @
http://www.#URLREMOVED#

come along and say hi.
also looking for new staff.


Both were sent to an address I don't use at this forums.

you all are probably members of vbhacks.us (which is now vbhackers.com), as i am.. and thus i received the emails too.
its a hack/template mod board like vb.org, etc thats been around for awhile now

Just checked the site, yes my name is registered there with zero postings, I did not register there and its the first I have heard of them

One other thing I did notice was the number of members they have with the same amount of posts.....Zero which is strange

If it is a case of remote or local hacking other sites it is definetly illegal.

If they are distributing work from others without written permission, yes.

If they are the author of the resources they post on their web sites, no.

Note in case they read this: Nobody has permission to distribute what I made without my permission, which you just didn't get :)

I just received 2 of their emails, and returned a kind request to explain themselves on how they got my email address and to remove me from their list. Both emails bounced.

Therefor I've taken another 5 minutes of my time to contact their hosting provider and data center and report them for unsollicitated emailing.

North America
Lagos (Nigeria)
China

It has come to my attention that there was spam mail being sent out from the Admin Control Panel. I would like to notify everyone that i have taken care of this situation and de-admined the user who has sent these emails. I'm the owner of vbhackers.com and there was a situation with an admin who was spamming members of my site, and vb.org. He was deadmined and you should never receive a single email from us unless you are a member there and there are updates. I'm going to read this thread in full now.

That annoucment was not an excuse. From the logs in my ACP Panel i found this:

Name and IP were ** for obvisous reason. I know alot of people got mail from my site and i belive that this user was spoofing the emails. I'm sorry if you recived these emails and i can assure you that this will not happen again. Again, deeply sorry.

Yeah I got them too, but in defense of Livewire and the site, it's the first time I've got anything from them other than the original email verification ;) so I'm more than willing to believe him :)

You're making such a big thing of this all, it only takes one or 2 seconds to delete them, why bother spending 15 minutes whining?

And LiveWire (AKA []\[]emesis) contributed more hacks to the vBulletin community (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/member.php?u=27714#hacks, http://vbhackers.com/forum/member.php?u=1) than any of you posting in this thread.

Releasing a hack takes time, free time.
He has spent hours and hours of his free time coding hacks for free for the vBulletin community, he even runs a site for the vBulletin community to enjoy, priceless!

It's huge hacking community is one of the major things why I myself chose for vBulletin, and I bet I'm not the only one by far.

You might find it odd and ridiculous, but I'm sure many share my opinion.

I don't want this thread to drag on. Honesltly i don't care weather or not you people belive me or not. The spam mail was sent by an old admin trying to promate his hacjing site. Why would i spam another hacking sites URL when i have my own? Doesn't make much sense huh?

About what Death said. vBulletin doesn't owe me anything, the only thing they need to keep doing is giving great support when needed. Do alot of members buy a license because of the large hacking comminuty? Of course they do. I did. I saw that there where so many more features avalible other then the default ones that it was worth the 120 bucks. I've giving vBulletin quite alot of money. 6 licenses, you do the math. Not that i own them anymore, but i have many friends that bought vBulletin because i showed them what it can do.

Anyways im rambling now. I didn't send the emails, and you won't recive anymore from the site unless there is some update to a hack that you have installed. Oh and Floris. My good friend is still waiting for your email. He happens to be my hosting company also...

What I am going to do is cancel my last post on this thread. I will then start a new threat because the porn spam is back. I have no information that that would implicate anyone on this thread. I have not been spammed by anyone but the porn folks that tend to visit from time to time.

I will share what I have as it happens. If it is like last time for me, it will be a nonstarter.
