database permissions,need help

Hello,
I'm moving to a new server and my question is:
When I upload a copy of my vB database using FTP to my new server is there any changing in the mode (chmod) that I should do?
or it does need need any permissions?

This is probably a better question to ask of the MySQL people, but you have to make sure that the user which MySQL runs under (usually mysql) has the ability to read/write to the files/directory.
