Gang,

I'm currently helping a friend who just purchased vb the other day and needs to import the data from DCForum+ 1.25. I've installed impex and ran the import script. The first step seemed to work fine, with some errors. The second step (Associate Users) ran but it the information under 'Data' and 'Failed' showed 0 on both. I then move on to the next step (Import User Groups) and get the following error:

Database error in vBulletin:ImpEx Source 3.0.7:

Invalid SQL:
SELECT *
FROM group
ORDER BY id

mysql error: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'group
ORDER BY id' at line 2

mysql error number: 1064

Now I keep getting that error, even when trying to access the "Import" function and can't get in at all. Any ideas/suggestions on the cause and what I can do to successfully import the data into vb3? Thanks for your time!

What is the complete error, including the script info?

The error I posted above is what I'm currently getting now, even when just trying to access the import function in the vb control panel. The errors I saw when doing the first step earlier were 'table not found' errors - there were about a half dozen. Any advice on what to do now?

You've merged your Old user (not a vB admin) with your New Admin account.

You've basicly whiped out your vB admin account.

You can use tools.php from the DO_NOT_UPLOAD folder to reset your old users vB Admin Access

Upload it to admincp folder. browse to it, restore your account REMOVE IT ASAP!

Cool! Got it to work. As a matter of fact, it imported just about everything without problems. The only issue now that I'm having is that no one can log in using their old forum information, with the exception of the vb admin account. Any ideas on fixing this issue?

Thanks for all the responses so far!

I would probably recommend, resEtting the members passwords and getting VBadmin to send out an email to them.

Please DON'T do this until the VBteam (ZAK) has confirmed....

Passwords - Not imported as they are crypt, users will have to request a new one.
