I truly hope this is the last beta and all the bugs and gliches are fixed up. The features are excellent, and I could ask for no more.
Keep it up deve team, this is one hell of a peice of equipment.
Also, on a side note/ question, if this is the last beta and we're ont he final release next. How long do you expect it do be released from the final beta?
Kier

If this is the final beta, and no one knows whether it will be or not, we will have at least one release-candidate version before we declare vBulletin 2.0 stable and release the gold version.

Hi,
in the change log I see this:
- options for controlling cancelled messages more
But I see no corresponding template change for this unless i'm mistaken ??

i did most of the translation, but after upgrading to beta 4 and 5, i must say i have to do it from the beginning. :rolleyes:
next time i will wait for the release of the final version :p

If you choose to use the 'delete' option rather than the 'cancel' option in the CP, pressing the [Cancel] button on the message tracking page will remove the message completely instead of merely blanking it out.

I just upgraded from b3 to b5 (via b3 to b4.1 and then b5)
Here is what I have:
Show today's birthdays on the homepage?
Yes
Display logged in users on home page
Yes
Here is what a Don't have
Birthdays showing on homepage?
No
Record Users showing on homepage?
No
My original "forumhome" has this code:
<!-- text -->
<table cellpadding=10 border=0 width="100%" cellspacing="0"><tr align="right">
<td valign="bottom" align="left" width="50%"><normalfont><b>
<img src="{imagesfolder}/vb_bullet.gif" align="absmiddle"> $bbtitle</b>
<br><br>
<smallfont>Registered Members: <b>$numbermembers</b><br>
<b>$totalthreads</b> threads in total<b> | </b> <b>$totalposts</b> posts in total</smallfont></normalfont></td>
<td valign="bottom" width="50%" nowrap>
<p><smallfont><b>$welcometext</b><br>
You last visited: $bbuserinfo[lastvisitdate].<br>
The time now is $timenow. $newposts.</smallfont><br>
<smallfont>Welcome to our newest member, <a href="member.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&action=getinfo&userid=$newuserid">$newusername</a>.</smallfont></p></td>
</tr>
$unregwelcomemessage
</table>
<!-- /text -->
And my "custom" forumhome template has this code:
<!-- text -->
<table cellpadding=10 border=0 width="100%" cellspacing="0"><tr align="right">
<td valign="bottom" align="left" width="50%"><normalfont><b>
<img width="30" height="21" src="{imagesfolder}/on.gif" align="absmiddle"> $bbtitle</b>
<br><br>
<smallfont>Registered Members: <b>1$numbermembers</b><br>
<b>$totalthreads</b> threads in total<b> | </b> <b>$totalposts</b> posts in total</smallfont></normalfont></td>
<td valign="bottom" width="50%" nowrap>
<p><smallfont><b>$welcometext</b><br>
You last visited: $bbuserinfo[lastvisitdate].<br>
The time now is $timenow. $newposts.</smallfont><br>
<smallfont>Welcome to our newest member, <a href="member.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&action=getinfo&userid=$newuserid">$newusername</a>.</smallfont></p></td>
</tr>
$unregwelcomemessage
</table>
<!-- /text -->
So what is wrong?
I am about ready to pull my hair out tonight. :(
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

after "posts in total" add $birthdaybits for the birthday feature
and the most logged on feature is in forumhome_loggedinusers and should look like "Most users ever online at once was $recordusers on $recorddate at $recordtime"

I added the text above and still nothing. I do have the "Show today's birthdays on the homepage?" and it is set to "yes".
I don't seem to have a "birthdaybits" template, should I have this?

The above worked great, thanks!

vBulletin is not internationalized yet. It will support multiple languages in a future version. Right now the only supported language is English.

I can't get the beta version to install... Most likely because I ran install instead of using upgrade over the demo version I had running. What is the correct way to get a fresh, empty install in a database with demo and beta 5 tables already there?
Aaron Pepper
Wed 11th Apr '01, 6:24pm
Drop all the tables in your database, delete all your vB files..re-upload them then run the install1.php file.

Can't reset the styles to the default and also can't make changes back from the border that was changed.
See http://www.boldplans.com/forums/
It will be obvious what I'm talking about -- that ugly green can't be removed with the templates easily. I only edited body tag and page background color. Changing them back didn't do anything. Reset button didn't reset either.

Solved the problem with the green border. In order to "reset" the values you have to delete the entry and then submit. It will delete the entire entry. However, reset still doesn't work.

Reset only resets the values in the boxes to what they were when the page was loaded if you have changed them, not what they were at any time in the past. It's just a standard HTML form reset button.

Eugenie2000<---- Has his fingers crossed that gold version will be out by April 21st.
Why can't G-d be more forgiving and make Easter break correspond with the release of VB2.0 final??;)
Good job dev team! I plan to buy a bunch o licenses for the sites i'm working on (Hmm, my clients never seem to understand that Free is not Free, Free=hidden cost).
I know this last paragraph is off topic but are there any posts here where people are discussing the .com meltdown (among large $500,000+ funded sites)?
Boo.com really pisses me off. 17 million and they get a half functioning product. They should have hired you guys, hehe.
Has anyone figured out the average age of VB users? Alot of sitepoint users are in the 13-18 range and the 27-35 range.

I noticed that with the default install, the vBulletin logo is broken. No image is found. I use WS_FTP and had selected the "change filename to lower case option," which caused no problems other than that.
{titleimage} is replaced by images/vBulletin_logo.gif
This is obviously NOT a bug, but... just thought I'd let you know.

Ok, I have a question. Should I change all my templates (about only 15 changed, but the main ones were changed) back to the original until the full version is out. Or will I be fine if I just leave em'?

There's no harm in leaving them, it's up to you. You will always have the originals to refer to, anyway.

You must revert the privfolder template, or things will start going wrong...

Is there any feature planned officially for an administrative option to purge dead users, or users that posted maybe less than 5 times in a time frame administratively set?
