www.1and1.com (http://www.1and1.com) rules! I NEVER have had any down time in 2 years. Easy to use cpanel. easy to contact tech support and they even offer a $ back guarantee...

I'd check them out!

You couldn't pay me to be hosted with 1 and 1 FYI.

Search around :)

In my experience if the host don't own a data center, then don't bother. If they mess up, the hosting warehouse won't care one bit about your data.

Define "will run vBulletin PERFECTLY" please?

That's your job as the admin. :)

However, that said - http://www.godaddy.com has served me well using a shared server account.

Could you please elaborate on why rather than just dropping a trailing remark?

If there's something wrong with GoDaddy, I want to know about it. So far my experience with them as my host has been very positive.

Try doing a search here at vBulletin.com or at a Site like WeHostingTalk or Sitepoint.

they are a greate registrar but make for a horrid host, all of their hosting is outsourced to a small company which has outdated hardware and software.

I did do a search, and read the first handful of threads that referenced GoDaddy, and in each case it seemed the people having problems were using the economy plans.

*shrug* To each their own. I can't speak for economy plan, but http://www.pilotsofamerica.com (http://www.pilotsofamerica.com/) runs pretty darn gud on GoDaddy so far.
Of course, I'm pretty self-reliant as a site-admin. I haven't had to do much customer service calls with them.

I'm using the deluxe plan, and say again, my experience has been extremely posivite. I have had one request for an additional PHP module turned down - I don't even remember what it was now - I think something like phpspell - but on a shared server I don't have an expectation of custom treatment.
