Nifty trick to boost banner views

Hey, I was just messing around today with my vb templates and found that a major template does not have the HEADER or FOOTER included in it.

The template is called redirect_search.

Your members use/see this template each time they click on View new posts...so I added my banner code to it and "Wha-la"... my banner now shows there as well.

The trick is to put a banner code there just to boost the numbers...because the page redirect is too fast for some to actually click on the banner. If you do this, your impressions will increase. Try it.

be aware though if you increase your banner views in such a way you could be dramatically reducing your CTR which could prompt your advertiser to reconsider the advertising on your site because of bad performance in CTRs

just to give the other perspective :)

of course if your banner is promoting your own sites or sections of your site then that would be nice :D

Yep, this is true, but I did it with my BURST banner code and this is not the only spot i'm running the code....so I should be ok.
