Not yet. I'm debating between getting the new camera (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond70/) or this (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-4221&link_number=) but I'll probably end up getting both :p
E3 is still a couple of months away, so I still have some time :)

Wish I had the cash to buy toys like those. You planning on dual or just replacing your old screen? Both will increase your E3 experience being that you will be able to take very high quality shots of booth babes and then come home to look at them on your gigantic monitor.

That's a common misconception due to the website's poor choice of wording.

I've called and confirmed that anyone can attend, however you can only get in for free if you are part of the gaming industry and register early.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the show open to the public?

No, E3 is not open to the public. E3 is a trade event and only professionals from the industry will be allowed to attend. Individuals who are not able to document their direct and current professional affiliation to the interactive entertainment industry are not qualified to attend E3. All E3 attendees are required to show government-issued photo I.D. (such as a driver's license or passport) upon request.

If you can get in, then congrats to you, but the quote above is taken directly from their site. Whether they allow members of the public in (like you say) I don't know since I'm in the gaming scene and qualify for free automatically.
If what you say is true, then I guess it's good news to those who are willing to pay.

Nope... You still need to be a qualified industry professional.

You need to provide valid industry verification:

E3 2005 Accepted Forms of Industry Identification
Resale Tax Certificate
Company Credit Card
Insurance Card
Business Ad (with business card)
Business License
Commercial Lease (WITH COMPANY NAME)
Paycheck Stub
W-2 Form

So if I ran a site with gaming news listed on it I could try and get in free?? :O :)Unless you run a massive gaming site or are willing to submit all of the required information, its probably not realistic that you can get a free ticket just for having a game site. If you are serious about going try talking to some game companies. I have solid relations with one of the industry leaders and get invited to events monthly. The last event I had time for was at the end of summer when a major title was closing development and they wanted site coverage.

Yea I cant wait! I've been hearing tons of rumours that Rare might finally release information on their next Perect Dark game at E3! w00t! Then there's the whole unvieling of the new consoles, which is also gonna be sweet, and theres also rumour that Nintendo might release info or screenshots of its next game boy (but that isnt likely since the DS is so new and the next GB is probably a ways off)

and MGS4..... dare I even mention that? :p

The only reason they're showing it on MTV beforehand is because Sony made their pre-E3 thing before Microsoft's. And since both Sony and Microsoft are going to display their consoles to the press in their pre-E3 breifings and meetings, then Sony will get the upper hand. Microsoft, therefore, wants to gain a little more press by showcasing Xbox 360 before Sony and showing it publicly.

Have you guys heard about ourcolony.net? It's supposedly another "ilovebees" thing but its being used to showcase pictures of the Xbox 360. So far, all people have found are a few pictures of the supposed new controller (its bright white and all we can see are the dpad and analog stick, with the start and back buttons missing).

And does anybody else think that Xbox 360 is a stupid name? The whole reason they did it was because they thought people would think the Xbox 2 would be inferior to the Playstation 3 due to the numbers. I liked Xbox Next myself...

lol, I actually thought about doing this with my site.... but the second step of the game requires that you create a large group, and the larger the group, the more hints or something you'd get. My site is fairly small-to-medium range and we wouldn't garner enough people (since not everyone is a Xbox/MS fan)

Looks like we won't be seeing the N. Revolution at this years E3

"it seems that Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata is worried about rivals nicking all his best ideas at this early stage. That's how revolutionary the new console is, apparently..."

More hype as usual, but I hope they can live up to it and deliver.

Two more weeks! I'm pumped.... anybody hear the rumours that Nintendo is thinking of backing out at E3 and NOT showing the Revolution? I think it's a really stupid move... it'll give Microsoft and Sony the advantage and hype they need to get ahead... and once again Nintendo will be lost in the back... Supposedly they dont want to reveal some "super secret" idea that they're afraid the competition might steal, even though I think Microsoft is too far into its development to steal any of Nintendo's ideas and Sony would think twice before doing something so stupid (although they could probably get away with it, saying they had it planned all along)
