Hey,

I am very keen on purchasing VBulletin software for my website. I am currently using phpBB.

I have spent many hours browsing these forums, and have found it very useful, but would like some questions cleared up.

When transfering phbpp to vb... will it transfrer
a) usernames?
b) all content?
c) post counts?
d) avatars?
etc..

Also is there a way so when existing users first come over from my phbpp forum to the new VB forum, they have to register there old usernames to re-activate there accounts? reason im asking, is this way it will eliminate old uses that have previously registed but never use there account, plus will make sure no one takes existing usernames etc..

Thanks
Connors

Hey check out the thread I made yesterday (few down).

i'm switching over to vBulletin shortly. The import tool does posts/private messages/users/attachments (if you have the mod)/avatars/signatures

There is a link to impex which will explain everything in detail to you. I just purchased my license tonight. Rebuilding my server and i'll be doing the switch :)

Here's the link to the phpBB (2.0.4 - 2.0.11 MySQL and MSSQL)) (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showpost.php?p=657606&postcount=2) Importer Status.

Yeah had a look at that Josh, that clears up that question.

Anyone have any idea about my other question?

sounds like he wants to import only users that have posted in a previous time frame (any users with 1 post or more within 90 days or so?)

I don't know anything about the importer but if that is the case that sounds like a lot of scripting hehe may just have to delete any of the users you don't want to import prior to the import.

If that is the question. No, it will import all the users. But that is ok. Once imported and updated the counters you can use the PRUNE USERS feature in vBulletin 3.0 to prune users who haven't been active for x days.
