Recovering deleted thread?

Is there a way to recover info from a thread that's been removed using a query(without having to restore a db)? I have a thread that I physically removed but would like to recover one of the posts in..I don't see it in the 'threads' table but wasn't sure if the actual posts might still be hiding somewhere..

You can't restore it without using a backup.
