I use www.vitrax.vze.com (http://www.vitrax.vze.com/) which is a heavily modified version of phpbb 2.0.11 There support is terrible and I believe they are even gone now!

My forum is located here: www.LexusLovers.com/forum (http://www.lexuslovers.com/forum)

I'm looking for INCREASED security over PHPBB. Will VB prove it's cost is worth the $160? I want to be able to search by a IP address in the Admin cp and see who posted from it etc etc. Is this an existing feature?

Additionally, I have an old phpbb forum backup file and my current forum (still up) Can I merge the two backup files together???? I read in a thread down multiples are allowed but I ran two different versions of phpbb so that's my concern.

I'm almost ready to pull the trigger for the $160

vBulletin does have some added security measures, such as client-side hashing of passwords when you log in (if the user has JavaScript enabled, it'll prevent the passwords from being sent in clear-text when he or she logs in). Also vBulletin has numerous features more than phpBB and the Admin CP is far more extensive than in phpBB, which definitely makes it worth the money, in my eyes. And yes, you can enter in an IP address in the Admin CP and see who posted from it. You can also do the opposite and see what IP's a user has posted from.

As for your two forums you can do this: You can do multiple imports from different forums/forum systems into one vB installation. The phpBB importer supports 2.0.4 - 2.0.13, so that should cover you, correct?

Also if you have not done so, you should create an admin demo and play around with vB and it's features here (http://www.vbulletin.com/admindemo.php).
