Going to buy vbulletin - what now ?

Okay the earlier feedback from my board members suggests it's a go and that moving to vbulletin is okay...

Now i want to buy it, what do i do to ensure a quick delivery and transaction ?

What version of vbulletin will i be purchasing ?

Also how can i install it and test out the full version without giving anyone else access to the board while customisation is being done ?

I want to install in the root of my domain so

mydomain.com will be the forum's front page

As far as purchasing goes.. if you submit your Credit Card online following the directions from the purchase page you will get your licence number and pwd in matter of hours, maybe minutes sent to the email address you submitted.. If you do a phone in purchase you will have the info to download in about 12-16 hrs.. This was my experience..

Version? From what I been reading (catchin up) the latest even though marked beta seems to be stable..

I wouldn't install it the root but where the instructions want to and then add a forward page off your root to hop to the forums index page..

I may do that forward from the front page to the forum. Another thing i am concerned about is the board being hacked by outsiders...

is that possible ? what safeguards should i be taking ?

Well i purchase vbulletin now and installed it within minutes... it's great and very fast :D

Now all i need to do is get everything just the way i want it... heads off to the customisation forum :)
