I am moving servers, and one server is using 3.23 while the new one will be using 4.x.... will this cause a problem with the database?

And reading threads like this one and the one that links to doesn't put me at ease....

Can someone tell me 100% which version I should use? I want to use the latest that I can, of course, to save from upgrading later.

Thanks,

Sebastian

I have seem some incompabilities with backups made with one version of vB when they are restored to another version. This has been known to happen with MySQL3-to-MySQL4 changes. The only way you'll know if this works is to try it.

Thanks Steve.... I'll give it a shot and see.

That is, of course, after I figure out how to install it...
