So it doesn't... What should it say?

the way it works now on my board it shows the name of the person you're quoting along with the time and date of their post. Something like:

At least the name of the person you're quoting should suffice:)

Actually I meant controlling what comes up in the reply box via templates. Something like: (without the spaces)
