After being stupid, by payind $60 for 300 MB, 30 email accounts, only 1 database, and, okay, unlimited brandwith (though i needet to search 15 minutes to find it...). I later found out (yesterday), that most hacks arent supported on their servers, and some features in vBulletin cannot rin on their server :(.
But now i will get Erektion... herm. i mean, now i will rise again, and go for another host.
I am looking for a host that can cost up to $50, video, image music and other may be uploadet or posted in forum, and offcourse vbulletin supported. I need to be able to install various hacks and scripts, both advanced and easy. Email support is needet, but telephone ins't (porbarly cant afford to call from Denmark to USA or something like that).
The server shall ofcourse be fast, with around 80-100 mail accounts, pop3, unlimited databases and so on.
it would be nice to have around 6 to 10 GB of space, because i think i will make a video uploading section, so lots of space needet :)

Well i've found one; Host gator at hostgator.com.
I looked at their Queen and King packages, and they provide the most of my wanted options (more than my old host, and cheeper though).
Is HostGator a good host, if my requests above are supported? (do they support all this at Queen and King?)

If my requests are too much, then something like hostgator would be nice. But do any of you know if HostGator i good?

If any of you knows a stable and trustable host, that suports all of my requests for around $50 or less, i would like to hear from you. :)

Regards,

Challenge.

yes I know Hostgator, my friend use hostgator deditated. it is stable and very good support, I think you will befall some a little problem.
1. you can't shell acces
2. you can't optimize your host (because only dedicated user have a right it )
I think you contact this host and you say it "I need to SSH connection only sometimes"

Thanks for your message.
Well, it can't be that good, if shell and SSH isn't supported... or what? can it? I'd understandet it as, if you dont have those two, you cant backup your database... Is that the only thing that SSH is for? Can i backup my database anyway, just slower?

no you can backup your database, but SSH back is best metod. if you haven't got a SSH, it isn't big problem, this is only my suggest you.
you can use a cpanel or phpmyadmin for backup.

I recommend the ace-host.net reseller package. Its great if you need tons of space and bandwidth for cheap price.

For that price, you could also look into Virtual Private Servers:

I've just contacted HostGator, and thay said that Ini_set() is turned Off on their servers.
I'd had this problem with ini_set(): here (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=128084)

What would you all then recoment?
Budget: around $50 Per month.
More than one Database (Unlimited if possible to that price)
min. 100 Emails (Unlimited if possible to that price)
6000 to 10000 MB (6 to 10 GB)
No hidden fees, and no yearly fees.

Hope it is possible.

I looked at http://www.servint.net/, and it looks nice. What are your experinces with that?

netcommander -
Right now I am in the "testing period", so none yet. I actually don’t have an idea how many hits I’m going to have, because I don’t know how many people have an interest in that area.
Hmm... Semi-dedicated looks interesting! And i can find some under $50 i can see. I will look into that, for sure :p

Thanks for your reply,

My community isn't big enough to require VPS yet, so I have no experience with that host. But It would be my choice if I had 50 bucks to spend a month haha :D

I assist in sysadmining a box from there, not too bad, but their slogan scares me. Plus IRC is not allowed on their networks ;_;

Don't use Hostgator. I've been with them for awhile now and their tech support is horrid.
