I would like to set up vBulletin to not show forums a user hasen't got right to.

example: a forum is only open to moderators and administrators, and when othe users come to the board that forum will not be visable on the forums index page.

if you look in the Forum settings in the CP, you will see a radio button that says "Visible only to Admins/Mods?". Click yes and it's not visible to regular members.

are you refering to

Private forum
(Invisible to all except moderators and admins)


using the still leaves a link on the index page, I would like to be invisible if the users are not authoized to enter the forum.

what version are you running?

I have a non-admin name and forums I have marked like that are *not* visible to regular users.

I just tried with a new username (non-admin), but the links to the forums are still visible.

See the "Hide Private Forums Option" in the Forums Home Page Options area of general settings in the control panel.
