Well i kinda like vb 2 better than vb3, and wondering how to downgrade from 3.0.3 to 2.3.6?

It is impossible to downgrade from vB3 to vB2. The data is stored very differently and all passwords would be lost. The only way you could do so is if you moved from vB2 and had a backup from it.

Almost impossible.

Why do you think vB2 is better?

You would have to write a custom script to do this. You can try asking for help over at vbulletin.org.

How long have you been running it?

I found at first I wasn't keen and I preferred 2, but after about a month as I begun to really learn about it, I relaised 3 is far, far superior and I now think 2 is outdated and old fashioned.

If it's just the LOOK you prefer, Zachery wrote a vB2 skin for vb3 which is around somewhere, this will largely emulate the vb2 default look and style, you could then customise the colours in this to match your own site and nobody will notice you've upgraded.

I'm not trying to dig up a month old thread but I've seen this question from 2 people on the staff on this forum. I am also thinking about downgrading to vb2, in fact I think I've already decided to, I'm just looking at my options for downgrading and keeping only the users intact.

I think the _main_ reason, from my experience using vb2 and vb3, is that vb3 is simply overly complicated for most users. I personally like many of the new features of vb3 but don't really use or care about 90% of the new features that have been added which hinder the ease of use. Of course it is all relative to what your viewpoint is on any software but the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) doctrine sometimes rings true.

Good luck getting back to vB2, its nearly impossible.

vBulletin 3 is much simplier for the end user, at least in my expirence.

There are no links to new threads (which users used to make a new thread to reply to a post). There is a quick and easy quick reply system.

90% of what a user does, is read posts, and post new threads / posts.

To use vB2 skin for vB3 is the most effective solution I think.
