View Full Version : wwwthreads sql Database import?

Hey there...

I currently am running a wwwthreads forum that is getting hammered. Thats right. Hammered. (Over 16,000 users signed on!)

I have heard this php will run things a lot better than the current setup.. I already have PHP3 in as a module in the apache, and mysql is installed to of course...

I am very impressed with this VB software, and am seriously thinking about moving to it very soon. (Poor users, went from UBB to wwwthreads, and now maybe this too!)

I was wondering though. I would be FAR EASIER to move to this software if I could move the data from the wwwthreads mysql databases, into the VB mysql databases and have it work like it was always there.....

Can this be done? Has anyone done it?

Thanks in advance!

I believe John has said that he was looking into a way of doing this import, but I do not believe it has been done.

I am going to be working on this, but there may be a few problems because, as I understand it, wwwthreads changes its table structure every version.

Thanks for the fast reply!

I switched from UBB to wwwthreads, and just kept the old UBB open for read only. Maybe I could do the same for this for a while...

Any idea how long until you will have time to work on this?
I don't want to rush you, but would like some sort of idea... :)

It will hopefully be in the "summer release" whenever that is. :)
