Ikonboard 3.12a, no MySQL

I have someone who wants to get rid of his Ikonboard. He is currentlyrunning Version 3.12a but without MySQL (he said something about 'DBM')

Will it be possible to convert anyway?

I guess it would be easiest if you convert to MySQL first, Ikonboard has the ability to transfer all data to the database.
