Simple suggestion. This does not require a hack but would be nice in an official version.
It would be great if todays numeric date would be replaced by "Today".....
So when you browse the forums, todays post would have as a printed date: "Today".... and maybe "Yesterday" for yesterday's posts...

or maybe just the way Netscape (maybe others) do it with usenet and just miss off the date completely if it is today.

Agreed, I like the way Eudora does it by default. Anything in the last 24 hours just has a time; anything in the last week has a day-of-week and a time; and anything older than that has a full date. Like this:
Message 1 1:30 AM
Message 2 12:05 AM
Message 3 Wednesday 2:45 PM
Message 4 Tuesday 12:00 PM
Message 5 6/14/00 2:55 AM
etc...

i prefer the "Today" being displayed, because not everyone will guess that the posts are made today, and might just think the forum is a big mess.
