calling all html gurus =)

I'm trying to help one of my friends with their website, but there's a slight problem. I'm trying to set up an RPG-style thing on there (It's hard to explain what I'm talking about, but you can get an example if you go to www.ffx-2.com (http://www.ffx-2.com) and look at a post and all the user info beside it) but I have no idea how to go about coding that. First of all, is this even HTML you use to create this or is it some sort of program you have to install? If it's HTML, could somebody tell me how to do it? I'm not asking for a pre-made board, I just need to know what kind of things you use to create one. Thanx for your time!

The RPG systems you see on some Invision and vBulletin boards are hacks (mods) so you may find one already coded around on various sites. You can code your own but dont think its wise when there are already ones out there ready for you to download and install.

It may be worthwhile emailing the admin of that board to ask about the hack, they may point you in the right direction:)
