Really dumb question on PHP upgrade

I'm currently using PHP 4.3.3 on my server. I want to upgrade to 4.3.10 and they have an installer version of the software but they suggest against using it on Windows based servers. Am I going to find myself in deep doo-doo if I do it the easy way? I'm really not comfortable with doing it manually.:o

It's pretty good explained in the howto that comes with the zip file when you download it. And of course you can always ask questions here if you don't understand something.
