I noticed some new cool features:
javascript for easier navigating with selectboxes
mass-pm buddies
alot new pm-options: mass-forward messages, ask to be notified when pm is read, new icons for 'replied to', 'forwarded' and 'cancelled' - messages. New 'message-tracking' folder
nice :)

This is VERY good, I LOOOOOVE fancy new features in software....
BUT....
I thought the feature set for VB2 was locked now? there's a lot of people that have posted here saying they are waiting for the product to come out of beta, Likewise I'm now ready to switch but am also waiting on it to be bug free (each beta has had a lot of problems).
Would it not be wiser to get VB2 bug free and released, and then add all this stuff into VB2.1? At this rate VB2 is never going to exit beta?
As I said I looove new features and I soooo want Jelsoft to keep innovating VB, everything that was mentioned here regarding the private messages is excellent and "must haves", but VB2 needs finishing one day???

The feature set for vB 2.0 is more or less locked down, but at the moment, we are rounding off rough edges and filling out existing features. Admitedly, some of the PM code is new, but that was an exception to the rule, from our good friend Kier.
Our current priority is to get vB 2.0 bug free, optimised, documented and released - no mean feat, but we're trying our best.
All the best,
John

I just noticed they implemented the "most online" thing too. I can't wait for beta 4! :) :D ;)

Thanks for the response John! :)
Sounds good, I might purchase our license tonight then so I can start testing of the importing and so forth.
Are the templates fixed now? If so I can start customising them as wel.
That'll keep me VERY busy until the final release :)

If you mean the HTML in the templates being cleaned up, not yet, at least as far what we as customers can download (don't know about behind the scenes ;)). Beta 4 hasn't been released, and I'm not sure, but it sounded like the template-cleaning is a "between last beta and final release" type of thing.

Some of the templates are -- look at the HTML on beta.jelsoft.com. Oh, and Chris, you can add &bypass=1 to the URL now (I think that's it -- forget what I called the variable ;)).

I assume if bypass=1 will not update your lastactivity time..Let me check that..
Yes that is what it does but remember it is not passed from page to page.

Still - at least it means moderator notifications and e-mail notifications can have their templates modified to have that tag, causing the clicking of such a notification to not reset your entire forum. If you choose to browse around, the timer then kicks in.
After waiting over a year for VB, and then more than six months for VB2, I have now just finished purchasing my license (a whole three minutes ago) - woohoo! :D
