I'm currently playing with phpwebsite, but its very weak and the development is SLOW.

Anything else out there? Anyone used midgard or phpweblog?

Check out vBPortal at:

http://911pc.com/vbportal/index.php?

The nice thing about this is that it's written to specifically work with the vB database.

Midgaard requires modification to PHP at compile. At least it used to.

Check out: http://www.typo3.com/

I just discovered Typo3 (www.typo3.com) and it has lowered my self confidence so low I'm now depressed. :) This one person has created a complete, professional quality, solution -- that not only works on the backend, but has a complete DHTML interface for editing/updating.

Simply. Incredible.

Can't wait for the final version to come out, as this one ranks up there for Best PHP Application, as high, if not higher, than phpMyAdmin.

both of those are poorly documented and very frustrating to install.

Anything that won't take me a week?

Go to www.hotscripts.com and have a look at the listing of CMS script there. I'm sure you'll find one you like.

Smarty looks good but requires PHP4 which my host has yet to setup.

I agree. I had downloaded it, but found the installation instructions to be rather daunting. So I decided to wait until both vB 2.0 and vBPortal are out of beta before attempting to install this.

Has anyone integrated the typo3 or EZ publish systems into the VB user system?

I've been checking out typo3 as well.....

Does anyone know of any sites over here in the US using it? Preferrably good sites.......

Is there an ETA on vBPortal?

Thanks.

;-)

I don't know of any production sites using typo3, probably because of the strict server requirements (not neccessarily cutting edge, just very specific) listed on the download page...

Great product, but they probably need to work to make it more compatible.
