View Full Version : Virtual hosting at Venturesonline

Seems to me like many people currently with Ventures Online have dedicated servers. That is out of my current budget, so I gotta ask...if anybody here has had any experience with Ventures Online and its virtual hosting plans? I am thinking of getting the Ventures 4 plan, with 350mb space and 15gb traffic, for $20 a month. What do you think about it?
Also, I am actually also considering Wizards Hosting...simliar package and price but with only 8gb of bandwidth. I personally think the 8gb is enough for my use, so I am just wondering if any of you can help me out in deciding which one I should choose. Any opinions one way or another?
Thanks in advance.

i have a dedicated server at VO and a few people i know have virtual accounts on VO as well ... for vB hosting if you plan more than 45 max connections on your account then you might wanna look at a dedicated server eventually.

What is meant by 45 max connections? Is it 45 people surfing onto my site simultaneously? Actually, I don't expect 45 people to surf onto my site at the same time, but what would happen is I have, say, 50 people surfing at the same time? Would they charge extra?

45 max connections does not necessarily mean 45 users simultaneously
i.e. on my forum i had 148 users and used 85 max connections
when i talk about 45 max connections i am talking specifically about Venturesonline.com
and no you won't get charged for over 45 but VO has set a limit on the max_user_connections to 45 on their virtual accounts. when you hit that limit i suppose you get the famous 'too many connections error' ?

Thanks for your reply, eva...I think I got what you meant. Actually, I have already signed up with VO, so hopefully, everything will pan out as I have hoped! :)
