You guys should create a section in the FAQ to handle questions like "Will I loose my hacks" or "Will I loose my template mods" and link to it at the end of every release announcement. Would save time :D

It would show the md5'ed version of your password + salt, which is useless when the cookie also contains your ln.
Now, please go into the support forums (which this is not) and post your problem, if you feel this is a bug please report it in the bug tracker.
Zachery, did you just send a member to report a bug that was fixed in 2.3.4? For shame... ;)

Additionally, we have altered the code in order to prevent POST requests being made from off-site forms, preventing malicious and mischevious self-submitting forms from affecting vBulletin installations.I am wondering how would that work??? By comparing the url domain??? What if a forum runs off multiple domains???

Is is possible to get a small list which phrases were changed or added so that we can do changes or additions on our own manually?
You did this for the files that changed and it would be nice to get this also for the phrases.
Can you do this Jelsoft?

@vBulletin team: Great work, I also upgraded without any problem.
One question: I read in the official announcement of 3.04 that you prepare a new version of vbulletin. Is it true? If yes, when do you plan to release it?

Quick noob questions. I noticed none of the template changes require a revert. Does that mean that when I upload all of vb3.0.4 to my server (overwriting all of the current files) that everything will remain the same? I don't have any major hacks; just cosmetic changes and custom icons which I assume I'll have to re-upload again afterwards? Do I even need to overwrite all the files or just those mentioned in the release thread?
edit: FAQ answers most of these questions, but not all (like the last one). Also, which version of PHP is the best to have currently? I heard of some "issues" with PHP5? Or are these just rumors?

Any hacks done in the PHP files will need to be reinstalled, however hacks done within templates or template changes you've done do not need to revert to its original state.

Yes, it is true there is a major version release being rumoured.
It's a bit more than a rumor by now I'd think, since Jelsoft is already talking about teh uber ninjaness of it.

Start a new thread. This is a discussion thread, not a troubleshooting one. :)

You can download the upgrade with no images in it so if you've changed buttons then they won't be affected. Alternately, if you've already downloaded the version with the images in it just make sure you don't copy them over to the folder that your forum is running in.
I read in this (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123531) thread where the PHP version was being discussed. They mention that PHP versions 4.3.10 and 5.0.3 are not affected, but in 4.3.10 the Zend Optimizer needs to be upgraded because of some conflict problems. There are links in the thread also that will help you get what you need more quickly. They do mention that PHP version 4.3.10 is what they suggest you use, I'm assuming because version 5.0.3 hasn't been fully tested yet. But I'm nobody to say that for sure.
Edit: Oops...guess I shouldn't have replied to that. Delete if need be. :)

Firefox web browser now uses the java? Style Manager in admincp instead of just expanding all templates into a list, however pressing the edit or customize buttons now has no effect for me.
It would be interesting if this is specific to me, or if anyone else can confirm.

Upgrade went smooth as silk. Thanks. Just had three custom templates and a few phrases go screwy, but easy to fix (Made backups prior to upgrade and used Beyond Compare to check for any major conflicts first).

You shouldn't need to start over unless you've been editing alot of the files, and the changes were relatively minor so they can be done with a compare utility.
So, would I be able to upgrade from 3.0.3 to 3.0.4 just by using a compare utility? No database modifications in this upgrade?
I wouldn't want to reapply all my hacks and template changes, at least not today :)
Regards!

No you always need to run upgrade.php when you upgrade vbulletin regardless of how you do it.

I am running FireFox (on a Mac) and the new look (well for me anyway) Style Manager works fine. All the buttons do what they should so it is all good here.
