Hello all.
I've tried to renew my Owned License and upgrade to VB 3.0.3 (I currently have 2.3.3) but I was suprised to get an email which said :

Due to the increasing incidence of credit card fraud, we have been required to implement a new system in order to protect ourselves against 'charge-backs'.

In order for us to reduce the amount of charge-backs, we are now actively refunding certain transactions that have been flagged by the WorldPay and Jelsoft systems as being of above average risk.

Our systems have flagged your recent WorldPay transaction (97653693), and your order has now been cancelled. Your credit card will not be charged for this order. If you still wish to run vBulletin on your web site, we ask that you kindly re-purchase the product using one of the following order methods:

~ Instantly via PayPal
~ Check (to our UK offices)
~ Wire Transfer.....

I've been a customer of VB for more than 2 years now and I regularly use my Switch (UK) card on sites like Play.com, Amazon, CD Wow, Music Non Stop UK, for more than 3 years without any problem at all.

I have to say I that I don't even understand why my order for renewal was not accepted as I have always been reliable to all my transactions on the net, and my account is definitely full of cash.

:(

Did you purchase your copy via the Members Area or www.vbulletin.com/order/ (http://www.vbulletin.com/order/) ?

I tried to renew my license via the members area.

WorldPay has a more strict anti fraud/scam policy and flags credit cards quite quickly. And we decline purchases from most flagged purchases. As we experience a lot of fraudulant purchases. Sorry to hear you have been flagged.

You can try using PayPal's CC service or one of the other alternatives.

I do not have Paypal because their system does not support switch + solo cards with an address outside the US and the UK.
After I moved to Greece I'm unable to renew my Paypal account so I do not use it.

I do not have Visa or mastercard, the Wire Transfer would cost me too much, not to mention that the banks and the post offices here in Greece will not open before Tuesday (due to Xmas holidays) so the only direct/instant way would be Worldpay.

Still, what exactly does "flagged" mean ?

That order was rejected because all of the billing info you used did not match the info your card company said is valid for this card. We cannot approve a purchase if your credit card company says the info was not valid. I suggest double-checking the info your used and trying again with the correct info.

This is strange! The billing info I enter is the right one.
I tried one more time but I got again the same "non-acceptance" email !

A few days ago I bought - with the same switch card - a battery from http://www.eurobatteries.com/ as well as some DVDs from amazon and had no probs at all.

Anyway, I decided to use my sister's Visa and now I' waiting to see if its is gonna be accepted :)

Ok, it worked with the Visa.
I managed to download VB 3.0.3.

Worldpay is way too picky, in my opinion. When I first purchased my license, 3 different cards I tried were flagged by Worldpay. My purchase finally went through, but the card used was still one flagged by Worldpay, it was just overridden by Jelsoft. I wish that vBulletin would use a Credit Card processor in the United States for those of us purchasing from the United States.

I just know that when I go to renew my Member's area access next month, that my cards will again be flagged by WorldPay. It's pretty sad really. Always pay way more than the minimum each month, never late on any payments, haven't changed my address in over 5 years, yet I still get flagged. I sure would like to know what criteria they use.

We have a new processor setup and waiting to go, we're moving away from WorldPay due to some disagreements with the way they run things, it will go live with the new management system goes live, its currently in testing at the moment.

Is there any new information on this new processor? My Member's Area access ran out yesterday, and y'all released a new version today. I'd like to renew my Member's Area access, but I refuse to deal with WorldPay again.

so... anything new on this new processor you hinted at?

It will be a while till it is implemented. Systems have to be recoded and tested to handle a new processor.

Until that time, you can use one of the alternative payment methods or download the security patches from the Announcement forum.
