Doing this requires a few steps, but it is possible:

First you'd have to split the post from the existing thread from which you want it moved. This will create a new thread with that one post. Next you have to merge the two threads and the new thread with one post will be joined with the thread you want the post moved to.

So this is possible, it just requires a little work.

Before I asked the question I searched this forum and saw some very old requests for this 'move post to existing thread' feature - therefore I was hoping it is doable without any problem.

Anyway, thank you for your reply, I see it can be done. I now run on phpBB 2.0.11 and got really tired of waiting for the next generation of phpBB (been waiting more than year now). Now I consider VB to replace my phpBB, this was one feature I'd love to see implemented.

vBulletin comes with moderator tools inside the forums which allow you to split posts from a thread, merge threads together and soft or hard delete a post or thread.

And if I want to merge several posts in one thread? Or pick 2-3 posts from one thread and move them into another thread...?

You have to split eeach post from it's thread, then merge it with the ddesired thread.
