I suggest we do away with the Forum Rules. Seems to be a "cosmetic feature" carried over from UBB, but the functionality got lost somewhere in the middle.
Would be nice, however, to have the Forum Rules provide correct and proper information per forum as they were meant to do.

We had a whole discussion about this a while back, JaZz0r. :) It would add too much to the system load for it to be worth it.

i agree with jazzor, and i think its too much information for it to appear in every page of the forum.

:D
I was wrong. It wasn't about server load, it was about too much text being displayed and making it more cluttered.

thanks tubedog :)
i think this whole subject is a rather confusing, because the reason why i opened this topic is that i forgot the User Groups and Permissions>Modify forums option, which will do what i was looking for.
I think theres a forum permission missing, the "can enter board", so a user could still see the board but not enter it. that creates some confusion with the actual "Can view board" permission, which a person can not view nor enter the forum, i suppose. With access masks we could disable that "viewing" thing, i think... Whats the difference between "Hide private forum" and "Enable Access Masks?" options?
On the forum rules appearence, i think they are deprecated as jazzor said... Making them dynamic would be very hard on the server, i would suggest creating a link to a pop-up window where the forum rules would appear, so they could be done dynamic then. Either way, i think is too much information to appear in all forum pages. Ill post this and other comments on the other topic.
