Hello there...:)

I hope that everyone is doing fine :)

Here you go... my current webhosting has recently closed my website "3 days so for" without even bother informing me or reply to my emails i have sent so for. Therefore i am seriously thinking about moving to another host. I searched this forum and found *tenes* of recommended webhosting.... i am confused ... which one should i pick? everyone is happy with his/her hosting company................... now i am looking for one :)

Here are the two hosting comp. that have attracted me. Is there anyone who is able to clearly read how good these comp. are? I need someone who is sorta prof. .... to find out the good/weak areas in both comp.

I am fedup from moving around hosting comp. 3 times in less than amonth :\

Help help

I use Liquidweb, however I've just recently moved to them and have not had a great deal of experience with their customer service yet.

If you run vBulletin over there, make sure you use the "connect" not the "pconnect" option for your database connection. They sent me a fairly nasty email regarding my pconnect-based connection, and though I fixed it immediately, they were not terribly helpful about it. This was with a pre-production vBulletin system, and they were convinced I was a serious performance problem on the server.

Other than that - and the fact that they are hosted by vdi.net and the NOC has had problems lately. I don't have any other issues :).

They still beat the pants off Digiweb - where I stuck out 5 years of hosting torture...

I cannont reccomend LiquidWeb, there services has gone to hell in the last 4 months, i have put in 4 support tickets in the last 10 days, and havent recived a answer to a single one, server uptime is never more then 6 days, as in the site goes down atleast once a week, usualy for a hour or two at a time...

Currently, my forums are closed, as there mysql partition is way to small, my forum database is only 8 meg (5000 posts / 1100 members) and i have recived multiple out of disk space errors. I closed up the forums untill i can move over to my dedicated server... what is taking way to long to setup (been 2 weeks, if its not upwithin 5 days, im going to charge back and go with venturesonline, like eva)

Nope, i orderd a server from serverhost.com, a PIII 866 with 512meg ram, 20gig HD, 10gig transfer... for $79 a month, i thought it was a great deal, so i figured, why not... I then decided to add WHM / CP3 to the server, at a cost of $100 a month (ouch, but if it makes my life easyer...), for a total of $179 a month, still, not a bad deal.

Sadly, jeff, the owner of serverhost.com is haveing problems installing WHM and CP, he is going to setup a new server for me on monday and try to install WHM adn CP again, if he dosent have it working by wed, im going to tell him forget it, and do a charge back on my CC, as its already been 10+ days when i requested WHM / CP and almost 3 weeks when i put my order in for the server... I havent really heard anything bad about serverhost, they have been around for 5 years or so, and i have talked to 3 people who have servers with them, all had nothing but good things to say...

I checked out VO about a month ago, when martin (?) posted his server specs, but they looked alitle high, i didnt know each server came with WHM / CP included! If i would have spend a few more min reading up about VO, i probly would ahve orderd there #1 server, with 512 meg ram, it would cost me a hundred dollars more for setup, and $30 more a month, but its probly well worth it...

If i do a chargeback for serverhost, i will sign up for VO, probly thursday... my site is down right now, and has been down all weekend, becose liquidweb sucks :) ticken me off so bad...

i see... yeah i have checked out serverhost.com before but add WHM/CPanel and 100GB/month bandwidth it does come around the same price as VO or maybe more

well hope you get back up soon then - i know how ya feel when your site is down - suxs :(

Actualy, serverhost.com offers really good additional bandwidth prices, if you buy ahead of time, a block of 100gig, they only charge you $150.00 ($1.50 a gig).

I just hope i can get my server up soon, and dont have any more problems with them ... I'll let ya know when its up and running, or when i order my VO server ;) hehe

Many thanks guys... i was about to go for liquid web.. they are typically similar to my current host *site5.com* even their cp, ticket supports, features are the same!!

Meanwhile i am so disappointed with the way site5 has handled my case and how they treaded me by not replying to a single email i've sent. I have emailed their management + webmaster in addition to support team..... no one bothered replying. All i wanted to know is why my site has gone down. Here is what i get when trying to access my site:

You don't have permission to *** on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Apache/1.3.17 Server at *** Port 80

If someone could figure out what does the above message mean.. i will be grateful.

Many thanks in advance!
