What about the option that admins and moderators can close a thread within the posting screen? So that they can post the reason why it's closed and directly close the thread with a checkboxclick.

That would be a nice feature for 2.1 or similar.
Perhaps something could display at the top of the thread saying:
Thread closed by $username on $date because $reason.

actually i like the way it currently is, although an Admin only viewable note on who closed or moved what thread would be nice :)

It allready does that, when a thread is closed, moved etc...the info is inserted into the 'note' field in the 'edit thread' function...

Not only that but admins and moderators can reply to a closed thread without reopening it.
