In order to assist you properly we need to know what isn't working for you.

Please report what errors you run into, what exactly isn't working and if you have any modifications made to the database structure of IPB or vB

You say you are not getting things imported properly, so something isn't going right.

Did you run update counters?

ok so i had a few problems first being the pm's which weren't imported and second the signatures. but that doesn't really matter since im ok with that the only problem i have no is with the pm system since im totally knew to vbulletin i have no clue how to do stuff and it seems that the pm system must be enabled by the user. now i need all of them enabled so how would i do that?

The PM system does not newed to be enabled by the User. You enable this in the vBulletin Options secition of the Admin CP, and then you set the appropriate PM permissions for each Usergroup.

that's not quite what i meant really, because since the import all users which were imported have everything set to no for "Browsing Options" and one of those options is "Receive Private Messages" which is what i want to set to yes. i found out where to do this for future members however i don't seem to be able to find any options for enabling it for all my current members. So where do i go to enable the pm's for all the members since i obviously can't go around changing their permissions all the time... and i don't want my users to do it since it get's things more complicated than they should be. So i think that covers it and have you got any idea how i would do this?:rolleyes: thanks :)

To set this and other global options for all users:

Admin CP -> Import & Maintenance -> Execute SQL Query -> Automatic Query

Then choose the appropriate query and click on 'Continue'.

To run queries you first need to give yourself permission to run queries in the Admin CP. To do this, edit this section of config.php:

// ****** USERS WITH QUERY RUNNING PERMISSIONS ******
// The users specified here will be allowed to run queries from the control panel.
// See the above entries for more information on the format.
// Please note that the ability to run queries is quite powerful. You may wish
// to remove all user IDs from this list for security reasons.
$canrunqueries = 'x';

...with x being your userid number.
