I'm having some trouble with WMA (9). Everytime I shut it down, it still runs (Somewhere in the background, not in the tray bar) and it will continue playing.

I've looked in preferences to see if this is an option somewhere but to no avail.

To close it propely, I have to shut down my PC - Ending the procress via the Task Manager does not work - it just automatically comes back up.

Help!

Did you check for viruses? (is that the plural form? :D)

Yep. I have Norton 2003 (Version 10) running constantly, as well as the latest version of Zone Alarm Pro 4.

So no virus' what-so-ever

Who needs WMP when you have so many other viable solutions which don't enforce copyright protection upon you

If you're like me who doesnt care for "fancy" players much, then get this codec pack ( http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm ) with Media player classic http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Media_Player_Classic.htm it plays every media extension there is.

Try updating sound card drivers. Junk could still be in the playback buffer.

Sorry to bump this, but rather starting a new thread i'll post in this one.

I'm using WMP10 and this is still happeneding. I would rather stay away from the option to using another media player, but if no-one has no ideas, i'll try another MP.

Oh, and i've updated all my hardware drivers.
