First of all, I apologize for using the pre-sales forum for this. I've searched the forum for answers and am not (yet) allowed to post in the How-do-I-forum, but will be purchasing VB shortly. Feel free to move this post to a more relevant forum...
We have a huge forum with plenty of spam, but not enough moderators to keep control. Now I'd like to offer some of the veterans in the forum the possibility to help us keep it clean (beyond just reporting), but since we are a newspaper we cannot give them normal moderator status - that is, let them delete and prune beyond reversibility.
The neat solution would be, I think, to give these "sub-mods" the option to move messages they find offensive from the forum and to some kind of moderation queue. Then, a mod or supermod could simply go through that list and either delete the message or move it back to where it was.
As I write this, I realize that the "hidden forum"-function might solve this. Letting the "sub-mods" move messages into a special hidden forum? But - will the mods then be able to see which thread the message came from??
Any feedback/suggestions appreciated...
Kris
 A one-man-think-tank isn't that fun...
