Ok so up until about a month ago we were using Vbulliten (version-3.0.0). Then we had a new layout deisgned for the website and with it came a custom forum design - but it used phpbb.
We decided to give it a shot - not really knowing what we were in for.
Turns out we HATE phpbb - and vbulliten blows it out of the water. We badly want to go back to vbulliten now.
So my question is this. Is there a way to import the new phpbb content (users/posts/etc) into my old existing vbulliten forum?
Or does the import automatically overwrite everything - thus losing my old vbulliten content from the past year?
Basically I would like to import the newest content back into the old bord and merge them all together into one vbulliten message board.
Is this possible?

The import should not overwrite any of your data.
Still, it's always a good idea to backup!

Really? That's awesome.
Once again - you guys show your head and shoulders above the rest.

Now what if I have identical users?
So two people with the user name "Pitboss" - will it merge them together?

You will have the option to merge users during the import.

i am trying to install ImpEx - and in doing so I had to upgrade my forum to 3.0.3 cause it said it was only written for 3.0.1 or higher.
Now I am 3.0.3 and I dont see the option to "Import/Export" under the "Import and Maintenance" section in the Admin area.
Any ideas what I did wrong?

upload the impex folder to /forums/ not /forums/admincp/
once you've done that hit refresh in your ACP and it will be at the bottom in the Import and Maintenence section.
I believe you have to be a super admin to see it so double check that in your config.php

Yeah it is uploaded in the root vbulliten directory - the "forums" directory.
Checked my config.php and my superadmin is user "1" and thats what I am trying to log in with.
All I see in the "import and manitenance" is :
Databse Backup
Repair Optimize Tables
Update Counters
Diagnostics
Execute SQL Query
View PHP Info
That's all I got.

Did you download and install impex?

Have you edited the config.php file for impex? That's ImpExConfig.php.new and renamed it to ImpExConfig.php?

If you uploaded the files to the impex folder, inside of the root forum folder the Import line will showup

My apologies guys - I had to leave abruptly.
I re-DLed it and re-Installed it and it works. Well it shows up and runs.
Now I am getting errors that certain tables aren't there in the Database. And I get errors when trying to associate members.
