Hi

I have had several instances where someone has reported something to me, maybe a current thread or issue that they want me or my team to deal with, or just perhaps some information that might be useful etc.

So, what I usually do is to post the PM I received or just an extract from the PM into my Moderators forum for my team to read and comment upon.

The thing is... it usually means that the original member who sent me the initial detail is then out of the loop when perhaps sometimes it would be good for them to be part of the discussion etc.

Is there a way that a member could be invited to join in with and view/comment in a single thread within the hidden and private (Moderators in this case) forum...?

What usually transpires are many PM's to and from me to the member etc updating them on the facts and what's happening. I appreciate that usually these issues are dealt with and then you would inform the member who raised the issue but sometimes... well... it is good to have that person to hand and available in the discussions.

Is there mileage in this...?

Thinking outside of the standard vBulletin. There is a hack (well two) by Xenon (other by erwin) that reports the thread to a specified forum. You could set this forum to allow users to view their own threads in here. If you need further controled access you could make a new usergroup and assign it the correct permissions to allow users to only view their own threads they started as per above, but when the user is not part of it it be hidden.

:) But in the end right now it involes hacking, i like the idea but not sure how vaible it would be to the mass public.,
