Our company will be purchasing VBulletin in the next week or two (and probably purchasing several licenses too).......Before we do this, I want to create a list (with the help of others) that identifies the top ways to maximize the performance of VB 3.0.3 without sacrificing too many value-add features. I have searched the boards for days on end, but haven't found a comprehensive list that identifies things to do to maximize performance. I am going to start a list, and hopefully others can chime in. I lack knowledge when it comes to server performance, so any assistance in identifying issues there would be great. Here is what I have come up with thus far:

1. Avatars: disable
2. Users Online: disable
3. Forum Jump: disable
4. Thread Previw: disable
5. Signatures: disable
6. Calendar: Remove this feature (personally, not seen as valuable)
7. Icons: Do not allow
8. Graphics: Do not allow users to hyperlink to graphics.

I'm running out of ideas....Can anyone help build the list as it pertains to VB 3.0.3

Moving CSS/Avatars/Attachments to the file system would also boost performance.

Do not allow threaded mode. Users spend most of their time reading posts. Threaded mode sends the largest pages.
