VB Install

I bought vBulletin a few weeks ago and also purchased a web server. I have vBulletin installed but I would like to see how another copy of vBulletin would work on the same server as a "sub division" would I be able to try out another copy of VB on the same server for a week? If the "Sub Division" trial works out better I will un-install the previous copy.The only reason I am asking this is because I dont want to pay another $85.00 and end-up have my community go belly up therefore throwing away $85.00 of good software.

As per license agreement:

1 Install = 1 Set of Files = One License :)

However, keep in mind that you can run a 2 Instanses, with a single license. As long as the second board is password protected and not accessible by general public. (Test Install)

Not quite sure what you are trying to accomplish. And I am not sure if you are willing to discuss the details or just want a flat-out answer. I don't think you can install a 2nd copy of vB and use it publicly with 1 license, even for a week.

Are you sure that what you want cannot be accomplished with user groups and a different forum style/graphic design for that group?

I will prolly password protect my older board then try the other board and see how it goes.

Well as Long as the Second Board is Password protected and not used in Production Environment, one should be ok :)
