are there any converters to switch from phpbb to vbulletin? or am i stuck with loosing my whole database?

ok great. and with this importer, can i do the different sections one by one? so i could import everything EXCEPT styles and smilies.

You can't import styles anyway.

I am not sure if smilies come over, but if not, it is trivial to save them to your hard drive and then install them into vB. Smilies are more powerful under vB because they can be given names and grouped.
