View Full Version : Just a quick question to Jelsoft regarding the rules...

I'm, in no way, questioning the rules of the vBulletin Community.

But this rule has got me confused.

Linking to a commercial product/service is fine, provided it is not a product or service that competes with a product or service offered by Jelsoft and it is not an affiliate program link for vBulletin or any other affiliate program.

Now, I love vB, and will continue to use it as long as possible.

However, I am a Developer of another BBS, and I'd like to put a link in my sig to the site of the product, like I've done elsewhere,... am I allowed to do so?

If not, it's ok, I was just wondering. :)

Unless you're planning on charging for it, I think it's allowed.

After all, the rule does say 'commercial'. I'll leave it up for a vB.com person to clarify, though.

Well this is a business, if it's a paid product then I'd guess it'd be not allowed. If you think about it. Imagine you own a Sony shop, and someone comes and puts a leaflet on your entrance door for the Phillips shop down the road :)

No, sorry. This is tantamount to advertising a competing service or product on our forums.

Ok, thanks for the info Steve. :)
