PhpBB -> VB3 - Users cannot login

Hi,

I have just upgraded my phpbb forum to VB3 however existing users cannot login.

Has Impex made an error somewhere with the passwords? I searched but did not find anything like this problem.

Everything else seems fine......ideas?

Maybe your cookie settings are wrong.

vBulletin Options > Cookie and HTTP Header Options

Check out the 'Path to save cookies' and 'Cookie domain'.

But the users cannot even log in.......will the cookie setting still affect this?

What should it be set to anyways?

What happens when they try to login? Can you log into the forums or Admin CP?

I have access to Admin CP, but other users cannot login as it says their password is incorrect. However if I reset their password to say 'pass' they can login and post etc fine.

Its like the passwords have not got imported properly ?

did you update all counters? I have done the import about 5 times and each time it worked just fine...

Yup all counters updated....... any ideas?

I can't think of any reason this wouldn't work if the import was done correctly. Is it possible for you to reinstall vB and try the import again?

Thanks for that. I re-ran the install script, emptied the database and imported the tables+updated the counters and that seemed to work. No idea why it didn't work in the first place :|

Bizzare, it would be intresting to know what could of happened so we could try and trap it in the code, though the phpBB importer is one of the more mature ones so I am a little supprised.
