I sent this question to sales August 3, 2004 10:51:07 PM PDT and it has gone unanswered. I need to know this information now so I'm posting it here, a search of previous posts didn't answer my question.

I'm the IT manager for a small educational institution and have been leasing vB for the last 3 years. I am planning on making the change to a purchased license next week and upgrading to 3.0.3.

I am also considering the Branding Free Option. Can you please tell me, if I purchase this option do you provide information on how to accomplish the removal of the branding ? Branding is only an issue because of the educational realm.

All you have to do is edit the footer tag and remove the copyright notice. It has comments around it. Look at yours now and you should see it.

There are no unanswered tickets in the support system and our average response time is less than one hour. Please provide the issueid of your ticket so I can investigate this.

P.S. The only support ticket in the system from your email address was from 2002.

Steve I sent it as an email to sales@vbulletin.com, if you like I can provide the entire email including the headers but I don't want to post that here.

I need the issueid of your ticket. When you send an email you get an automated email response with this issueid in the link. You also need to click on the link in this email to activate your ticket. This is to help eliminate the thousands of spam email the support system was getting every day.

If you did not get an email, then check your spam folders. Some spam filters are too aggresive and block our system emnails. emails incorrectly.

btw, as an answer... the Branding Free option is not for coder, it's for everyone... when you have paid, you receive all the proper instructions to deactivate the branding display... this is the goal of the feature, so logically, they provide the way to activate the function... ;)

The branding free allows you to remove the copyright from the footer template (and other templates). It doesn't allow you to remove the branding from the source files or rebrand the software.

You were right Steve, my spam filter caught a reply email. I just found it and though I did get a reply, my question wasn't answered. The reply just restated that I'd have the right to remove the notice, but not internally or re-brand. I also did not get an automated response to my email. I've checked thoroughly for it, it was never received.

Because you didn't confirm the e-mail. They receive hundreds of spam e-mails a day on that sales@vb address.

I also did not get an automated response to my email.
The reply e-mail that got stuck in your spam filter was an automated response was it not?

I think you misunderstood him.

He did get an answer (the automated response isn't that important, is it?) but the answer given doesn't answer his original question.

And I am trying to get that issueid number so I can look at this ticket to investigate this report.
