What makes VB sites more successful then IPB?

We believe the key to vBulletin's growing success is the extensive range of useful features, the ease of use of the software, the quality of our code, and the excellent technical and customer support we provide.

All of our staff (Developers and Support Team) are paid. This is not a hobby that we do on our spare time - rather, it is a real job and responsibility. We belive that we provide the best bulletin board software and support available.

To get the perspective of our customers on why they've chosen vB over the alternatives, I suggest you read their posts on our Pre-Sales forum.

As per license agreement:

You are allowed as valid license holder to TEMPORARY run a PRIVATE forum for testing purposes only, aside your live-installation. It has to be in the testvb/ or vbtest/ directory, and that directory has to be password protected (like the admin demo).

ok :) If I have it set up on my PC does it have to be temporary?

If it is not temporary, you are running it like a true instance, and that requires a license.
It is important that it is temporary, because if our piracy database notices one license running multiple instances it could lead to your license being revoked.
No, it doesn't have to be on your pc.

a test forum is useful when trying to change some important things instead of trying to change them live.

and a test forum is REALLY important for code developpers like me that have about 25 clients to serve... i can't deal with the purchase of a license only to test the installation of a hack, so instead of scrapping my own main website, i use a demo site to build and code... clients are happy to see the result, and i have not paid for a new license... or i would be ruined before starting the job.. ;)
