Well about an hour ago I was at my moms and was using the hedge-trimmer to help her tidy up the garden a bit. And I went straight through the mains electric wire which powers the thing with the hedge-trimmer.
How did I manage not to get electrocuted. The hedge-trimmer itself didn't have any electrocution prevention or anything on it so...?

when you cut throgh the wire, the trimmer itself produces a short circuit, and therefore you won't get electrocuted.
nethertheless you should be more carefull normally ^^

You also might not have been grounded.

I find those electric ones arent very powerful myself..
Good for just basic trimming though..

By grounded you mean with feet on the floor/ground?

Any defined path to the ground, so if there was enough insulation between you and anything touching the ground, it won't shock you.

Indeed I was standing on the floor. I think I've learnt my lesson about being careful with electrics now though :p

the socket and plug has fuse if that happens it automaticlly stops getting shocked

This is why we use gas power in the yard ;).

An amount of current will still get through before the fuse blows, and it can still kill you.

Exactly. And a bit of luck.
