I was looking for some cheerful smilies that were a little bigger than standard when I found the Emotikons on Kde-look.org. These are distributed under the "Artistic License (http://dev.perl.org/perl6/rfc/346.html)".

I have converted the files from PNG to GIF and added transparency. However I didn't make any other changes so many of the graphics will not work on a dark background. I have attached both the GIF files and the original PNG so if someone wants to optimize them for different color backgrounds they can.

I'm using this right now.

It looks nice and newer than other forums, but it kinda is bigger than other smilies.

Use your favorite graphics program to matte them with your background. I personally only use PNG based smilies with Alpha Transparency. I apply a hack so IE 5.5 and 6.0 on Windows can see them properly. I don't care about any other browser that can't see them properly.
