Hi vBianiacs!:D

Here are the guidelines for vB BotM in a nutshell. For those interested in getting their boards into the nomination process, the nominations thread will be started at the beginning of each month, so check this forum on or around the 1st of each month.

And as always......have fun!:D

Nomination guidelines

Only 5 nominees will be accepted.
You can nominate your own board.
If your board wins, it cannot be nominated again for a year.
If somebody else nominates your board the month after you nominated your own, the nomination will be accepted.
Nominations will be accepted until the voting thread for the next month is made, which is usually at the beginning of the month.
A good board is based on whatever makes you happy.;)
When you make a nomination please include the Board URL and maybe a reason why you like the site. Only the board URL will be accepted for the running.
A nomination must be seconded by a non-biased person before it will be accepted as a nomination. That means the second must come from somebody who is not affiliated with the board being nominated. (I know this will be difficult to inforce but please comply.)
You can nominate as many boards as you'd like but please second only one or two. (This is not a definite rule and therefore won't be enforced. It is more like a polite request. I added it because the question, "How many boards can I nominate or second?" always seems to come up.)
If not enough boards were seconded, I reserve the right to second one board. If there are still not enough to make 5 nominations. All the nominated boards will be thrown into the perverbial hat and the last nomination(s) will be randomly pulled from the hat.
All seconded Nominations received will be thrown into a hat and 5 final nominees will be pulled. This selection is 100% random!

If you are pulled in the draw and your board or server is not up when the poll is made (at the start of the month), then an alternate board will take the place of your board. No exceptions.
All Jelsoft employees are excluded from participation in this contest.

Voting guidelines

Only 5 nominees will be up for voting each month.
The person voting may judge a board on his or her own personal criteria. So what makes a board worth voting for, is up to each individual voter. Comments as to why or why not a person votes for a board are welcome as long as the comments are constructive in nature.
A board could be disqualified or lose votes when:

- the owner or any other person adds more than three users to their "Admins" list in the Member's area. Be aware that the userids are saved with the poll votes and these userids can be bumped up against the "admins" list that vb.com has on record. That means this type of cheating can be caught, so don't even think about doing it.

- the style of the board is changed sometime during the month of voting. The board's style must stay the same throughout the month.

- the board must stay active for the whole month.

- the board must not be changed to another software.
Once a board is in the poll, it stays. Requests to be "pulled out" will not be accepted.
Only members with a registration over 30 days old and more than 25 posts will be able to vote. This has been regulated through a user group in the Graphics forum. So now the poll results do almost show the real results. (Point 3, adding admins, will still not be seen.)
Do not post accusations of cheating or immoral conduct. Anyone who has a grief should send me a PM. (s.molinari)
As a last request: Please write only positive comments. If you must write something negative please add a suggestion on how what you don't like may be improved. Thanks.

If you have any more opinions/ ideas for other guidelines or opinions on these guidelines, please feel free to post them.
