Anyway, im on shared hosting "Lycos". They told me to look at www.php4u.com (http://www.php4u.com) (think the site was) and they have vB lite working on there.

A year ago a hosted my mate's vB2 for him and it was fine, why shouldnt vB3 work????

vB should work. The magic quotes is not critical, and the safe mode means that you will need to enable safe mode and that a few options won't work (namely, the attachments and avatars as file options.)
